Hidden Figures Premiere & After Party

On Saturday December 10, 2016, African American women working in space were celebrated at the premiere of Hidden Figures. THE FIRM, formerly known as Samantha Sackler Productions, and 20th Century Fox worked side by side to produce the red carpet premiere and premiere after party in New York City.

The premiere held at SVA theater featured a 40’W x 8’H Step & Repeat with an image of clouds in the sky with both the Hidden Figures logo as well as IBM logo who served as a partner for the film. Following the sky patterned step and repeat was a blue fabric wrapped hard wall with silver, metal bordered and mounted bus shelter posters. The blue fabric against the red carpet matched perfectly with the NASA logo displayed in each bus shelter poster.

The NASA logo made another appearance as a decal on the dance floor at the after party located at the Altman Building. Talent from the film like Janelle Monae and Pharrell Williams enjoyed dancing to music from the soundtrack and other classics spun by DJ D-Nice.

The furniture vignettes created a mid century modern feel with Designer8*’s Lloyd Collection including the Sofa, Chair and Coffee Table. Burnt orange shag rugs also from Designer8* were used to give the room warmth. To help give the event a spacey feel, colored orbs were hung from the ceiling gradually changing colors every 15 seconds. Large arco lamps were also used to highlight the bars and buffets which featured floral arrangements made from orange roses give the event another pop of color. With great music and an energetic atmosphere, both the film and the after party were enjoyed by all.
