This Is Where I Leave You Premiere
On September 15, Warner Bros. premiered their newest film, This Is Where I Leave You, starring Jane Fonda, Tina Fey and Jason Bateman. After the passing of their father, four grown siblings are forced to return to their childhood home and live under the same roof, “grounded” for a week with their widowed, celebrity psychologist mother (Fonda).
On probably the hottest days of the year in Los Angeles, reaching a high of 102, THE FIRM, formerly known as Samantha Sackler Productions, transformed the El Capitan Parking Lot into a warm, feminine party using navy, white, grey. We brought in 15,000 square feet of grey carpeting and over 500 linear feet of elegant navy drape to surround the perimeter. We had quite the challenge with the wind, as the draping acted as a sail. To resolve this issue we filled 63 water barrels to hold the drape in place. Luckily the wind died down before the party began. We created a 24’ wide by 16′ high truss structure, beautifully dressed in silver ruches fabric, which encompassed the Designer8* Bianco Bar and five suspended Haley Chandeliers. We also included floral arrangements using beautiful white Roses, white Ranunculus, green Antique Hydrangeas and touches of Dusty Miller. In between each buffet setup, the SSP team created a new use for the Edison Back Bars, adorning each with a combination of candle votives and florals. To further soften the look we brought in 8′ ficus trees.
