Epic Premiere – New York

THE FIRM, formerly known as Samantha Sackler Productions, brings Blue Sky Studios’ Epic to life at the premiere on Saturday, May 18th. The Epic movie is a story of an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and the forces of evil. When a teenage girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters in order to save their world. Amanda Seyfried, Colin Farrell and Jason Sudeikis walked down an artificial grass pathway, rather than a typical red carpet at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York, as Fox wanted to create a “green” carpet. A 128’ step and repeat wall was designed to incorporate both the single color Epic logo as well as the more colorful Epic logo which was enlarged to give the step and repeat wall dimension.

A 10’ wide 3D Epic logo flanked by 8’ trees with branches that spanned 4’ on either side served as the central focal piece to the entire backdrop. Scenic vignettes were created with cutouts of ten of the main characters in the movie and were dressed with real plants and tree stumps. After the movie premiere, the grass carpet was recycled and donated to a local SPCA.
